The Backwater Valve is a very effective devise that protects yours home from sewage water spilling into your basement.
Learn more about Backwater Valve
The first step in the installation process is locating the main drain line exiting the house. Once the line is located the Direct Waterproofing team will carefully excavate the concrete around it and clear up the drain pipe.

The second step is to cut out the section of old clay pipe.

The third step is placing the Backwater Valve in front the drain pipe.

The fourth step is cutting and gluing the PVC pipes and connecting them to the Backwater Valve and the old clay pipe and checking levels, as it is important to keep the original flow, so that the water flows out of the house and into the city drain.

Next we connect the Clina and extend upwards so it reaches up above the top of the floor.

Once the level is established, the space around the Backwater Valve is filled and compacted with gravel.

After the plastic box shield (the access box) is installed over the Valve. Which makes for easy access whenever the Valve needs to be cleaned.

Once the access box is installed the space around is filled with gravel.

The last step is pouring concrete and levelling it with the basement floor.

At the end, a Direct Waterproofing manager will came out and check the job site and make sure that the job is done right and the place is clean.
